I’ll never forget a conversation I had with a nurse anesthetist in my first few months of private practice as an anesthesiologist.
Let me set the scene for you. In June 1986, I completed my 3 year rigorous anesthesiology residency at the Medical College of Virginia and joined an anesthesia group at a moderate-sized hospital in Hagerstown Maryland. There were actually two competing anesthesia groups at that hospital which had 12 operating rooms.
Within a few months of working at Washington County Hospital, a nurse anesthetist from the other anesthesia group shared some information with me about investing that dramatically changed my financial future and ultimately created FINANCIAL FREEDOM for me.
I was 28 years old at the time and the nurse anesthetist was around 30. He owned his house and his retirement savings had grown to about $500,000. In sharp contrast, I was renting a small home, had $50,000 in medical school debt, and nothing in my retirement account. What was wrong with this picture? I was a doctor and this guy was a nurse about my same age.
Well I applied the principles he taught me about saving and aggressive investing. As a result, over the course of the next 14 years, I was debt free and my retirement account grew to $1.4 million. And please understand that I was never was making a fortune with my regular job. This was strictly the power of compound interest at work.
So what? Now what?
This morning as I was journaling in my Sacred Place during my Sacred Time, I asked the LORD what he wanted the title of today’s message to you to be. His answer – “Webinar today – When you change your investments, you change your life!”
Today at 8 pm EDT I am hosting John Norquay for a webinar about wise investing. John is one of the wisest investment advisors I have ever met. And now I’d to have John share what he knows with you to bless you and your investing.
If you’re interested in being able to save more to give more away to help others, I invite you to watch the recorded webinar.
It’s been said, “When you change your thinking, you change your life!” How true. The same applies to your savings and investments.
God is opening a door for you to have greater influence. Will you walk through the door?
Blessings to being a good steward with the finances the LORD entrusts you with!
