Overview

  • To see the greatest results, these seven questions must be answered in this order during an interview, ideally over 60-70 minutes. If you don’t answer all 7 of these questions, your training will be less potent.
  • These seven questions are the key to open the door to the secret passageway for you to become a better presenter.
  • There are four different types of learners – the WHY learner, the WHAT learner. the HOW learner, and the WHAT IF learner.
  • The least patient learner of all is the WHY learner. The next least patient is the WHAT learner. The WHAT IF learner is the most patient.
  • You want to give your answers in this order. Always answer the WHY question first with any presentation. Understanding why your topic is important deals with the WHY learners, who are least patient.

WHY

  • Alex likes to give three reasons why because there is power in three.
  • Alex uses the phrase “achieve greater success” because achievement is what people are after.

HOW

  • How do your students typically get started on a step-by-step basis.
  • A famous study done at Princeton in the 1950’s showed
  • If you are going to give steps, give 7 steps plus or minus 2 (i.e. 5-9 steps because this has been proven to be most effective.
  • The HOW people are the roll up your sleeves and let’s get this done.

ROADBLOCKS

  • What are the typical roadblocks that keep people from getting started?
  • Talk about the roadblocks first that get in the way and then the strategies to get through or around them.
  • The visual picture Alex likes for roadblocks is 3 locked doors.
  • Say, “There are three typical roadblocks that get in the way.”

STRATEGIES

  • Look at having a specific strategy to unlock each of the 3 roadblocks.
  • What are three strategies to unlock the roadblocks that lead to “wild success”? Not just any success, but wild success.
  • Each roadblock has a strategy to it.
